What are my ‘origins’?

My own origins are born of a passion for discovery and energy.

I’m led around this world by an endless passion for discovery. It led to my career as an aerospace engineer, attempting to unlock the secrets of the cosmos with breathtaking Hubble telescope images emblazoned on my mind, and it fed a new direction in my life decidedly non-traditional — outside of conventional disciplinary boundaries; antidisciplinary. Passion produced my TED talk on the weather in space, a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering science, and a stint as a NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory engineer and data scientist.

What fills me with energy? How does it’s presence (and absence), strength (and lack thereof) dictate possibility? I’m endlessly fascinated by the role that energy plays across life and the universe; in creativity, in relationships, and in physics.

Passion, discovery, and energy course through my days with my wonderful fiancé, Rachel, and bluetick coonhound, Tupelo, and it sparks an intense love of books, music, good beers and profound coffees, and an obsession with the right question.

Origins are the conversations that spring from my passion and energy and are the result of a love of discovering the counterparts in each of you.

—> Back in October 2016 I started a thing called ‘Five-Cut Fridays'. The Five-Cut Friday series was born out of a love of music, sharing it, and long conversations with my family about what they were listening to. Check out all of the playlists and keep up with the latest on Spotify! Here’s one from October 2017 to get you started.

Guests on the show will each create a Five-Cuts playlist, which we will share with you. We’d love to hear your lists, too!
